Meet the Chiropractors

  • Dr.
    Mike Kuoppamaki

    Dr. Mike Kuoppamaki D.C. is a Chiropractor specializing in the Active Release Technique for sports and soft tissue injuries in adult and pediatric patients.  Dr. Mike has extensive experience with athletes, he worked for the San Diego Chargers for eight years, is the UCSD pole vault coach, and is a master's track and field athlete himself.

    Dr. Mike earned his Bachelor of Science in Neurophysiology and Behavior at the University of California at Davis.  He later went on to obtain his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences where he graduated as class Valedictorian.

    Outside of treating patients, Dr. Mike competes in track and field, is an avid rock climber, and spends lots of time outside with his family.

    Sean Higgins

    Dr. Sean Higgins found Core Health Spine & Sports Care in 1997, formerly San Diego Family Chiropractic, where he currently acts as owner/clinic director.  For over 16 years Dr. Higgins was also the team chiropractor for the San Diego Chargers.  Prior to his time with the Chargers, Dr. Higgins spent 3 years working at the US Olympic Training Center:  Sports Medicine Division in Chula Vista, CA where he had the great opportunity to treat a vast number of athletes from a multitude of various sports divisions.

    Dr. Higgins had the honor of being an instructor for Active Release Techniques for nearly 20 years in which he had the pleasure of training fellow chiropractors and other health care professionals in the areas of upper extremity lower extremity and spine and various complex protocols.

    Dr. Higgins is a native of Chicago. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History and Physiology of Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Soon after he completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois,
